It's a lot of fun when I have to figure out how to shut down the latest crazy new thing someone came up with. People throw the most interesting armies at me because of it. Originally posted by The Fifth Archon:That is my one and only rule in my lobbies. Most likely you'll see that they're on the defending team, because that's the easier team.Īnd really ask yourself if they say 124, "Are they just trying to rig the game?" If you join a multiplayer siege battle on Rome 2, try to keep an eye out for which side the host of the game is on. I've literally seen 2 units of artillery, that's 8 pieces of artillery, launch rocks at the wall, and 6 of those rocks will go right over the wall.īut, the artillery it turns out, is pretty freaking effective against massed units.Īnd I'm sure that a good number of players figured out that if they held back their artillery until the citadel or the last push, they could really do a lot of damage to the defenders.Īnd again, those idiots who think they're entitled to easy victories couldn't allow such a strategy to be used against their stupid citadel camping and such "tactics", so they tried to say that the tournament rules said it was now 1 artillery, 2 pikes, and 4 missile infantry.īut I want to ask, almost challenge any of you who read this. That's 2 units of artillery, 2 pikes, and 4 missile infantry.īut it became only 1 artillery unit because, some of us actually understood how to properly use artillery against the defenders, and those idiots couldn't allow that.īut here's a little fact about vanilla Rome 2 artillery. A lot of these fools, to put it mildly, try to use the 124 rules to completely limit the attackers' ability to effectively fight against them when they defend.īut I remember when the 224 rules started being wide spread, and the battles were still played just fine. For I've had Rome 2, and played it off and on since day 1.Īnd it's because the defenders wanted to try to find a way to rig siege battles. I remember when you could host or join a game on even Rome 2 and not be held back by a bunch of supposed "tournament rules".Īnd I know exactly how and why these stupid "rules" were made. This is something that has really bothered me for quite some time now, and I can't keep silent about it!
