These last two, plus the ability for Office to open/edit/save directly to libraries on the site are only available when using Internet Explorer. Without Microsoft Office Professional installed, Office documents do not open in their native applications, the ability to edit in datasheet mode is lost, and Windows Explorer view is not available. In certain circumstances there are workarounds that provide similar functionality (e.g., editing of Office documents by downloading/uploading). Some advanced functionality may be lost with non-ideal configurations. However, it works most fully on PC computers using a Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Professional software, the Internet Explorer browser, and a few browser support applications.
